Creating an achievement
Where:
Achievements → Add AchievementIcon
The image participants see. It renders small and in a grid alongside others, so bold shapes work and fine detail disappears.
Keep a consistent visual style across your set. A grid of achievements in six unrelated styles looks unfinished.
Title and description
Write the title as something the participant achieved, not as the rule they satisfied. "Century rider" reads better than "100km condition met", and it is what they will screenshot.
The description says what they did and why it was worth doing.
Type and category
How the achievement is classified for participants, and which group it appears in.
Classify by theme — distance, fundraising, consistency, participation. Participants do not know or care how the condition is evaluated.
Level
Where an achievement is part of a progression, its level places it in that sequence.
Progressions work well: bronze, silver, gold on the same measure gives people a next target the moment they hit one. Set the first level low enough that most participants get one, or the whole ladder is invisible to the people who most needed encouraging.
Unlock method
Whether it unlocks automatically when conditions are met, or is awarded manually.
Automatic is the norm. Manual exists for the cases your conditions cannot express — a participant who did something notable that no rule anticipated.
The timing option As soon as conditions are met is what you usually want. The alternative is holding the award until results are final, which suits anything that could still change.
Sharing
Allow sharing this achievement lets participants post it.
Leave it on. A shared achievement is an advertisement placed by someone your audience already trusts, at the moment they are most enthusiastic. There is no cheaper marketing in the product.
More info and call to action
An achievement can carry a modal with more detail, and a button with Button Text and Button Link.
Links must be full URLs
The link is stored exactly as you type it. A bare domain like example.com works in some contexts and breaks the button in email, where it is read as a relative path. Always include https://.
Sponsored content
An achievement can carry sponsor branding — useful when a partner funds a particular milestone.
Keep it proportionate. The participant earned this; a sponsor panel larger than the achievement itself reads as an advert they have to get past.
Email and notification
An achievement can send an email and an app notification when it unlocks.
Worth writing properly rather than leaving at a default. Say what they did, congratulate them specifically, and give them one thing to do next — share it, set a goal, invite someone.
Do not enable email on every achievement in a large set. Ten congratulatory emails in a week stops reading as congratulation.
